So happy the sun finally came out so I could photograph Mandy & Cam’s engagement session earlier this week at Waipataki Beach in Hawkes Bay. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect evening and I hope you guys love your photos as much as I do!
Mandy is from Dallas, Texas and they’ll be heading back there in October this year for what I know will be an amazing wedding. She was my son’s first teacher when we arrived back in New Zealand and played such a special part in making his transition – and ours – so smooth, that it was an absolute pleasure to be able to create some beautiful images for her.
I know spending an hour with me and my camera on the beach wasn’t on Cam’s list of favourite things to be doing, probably not even on Page 2, but thanks for hanging in there and I don’t care what you say – you both look smoking! Wishing you both the most wonderful Texan wedding!
Here’s the slideshow for now – images coming soon! For your friends and family in Texas, I hope y’all enjoy this little taste of New Zealand…

While I could have asked for better weather, I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful bride! Despite the badly timed arrival of the forecasted ‘weather bomb’ on Saturday the show still went on. Plans were changed then changed again and somehow Rachel & Aaron managed to go with the flow and not let a little heavy rain or gale force winds stop them from making their day all they dreamed it could be. I am honored to have been a part of your perfect day and hope you enjoy this sneak peak of your photographs.

And that’s it for now
Rachel & Aaron, I wish you every happiness in your future together and I hope you find time to relax, enjoy each other and soak up some sunshine in Hawaii.
Much love,
Linda

These are absolutely beautiful Linda! Congratulations on making your dream come true! I really pray that New Zealand is being good to you all. Would love to Skype sometimes. Much love,
Charisse
Great photos! The memories of the rain and wind will fade – especially having such beautiful photos to show for their efforts. Well done!
When I first meet my couples and talk about my wedding packages I always recommend doing an engagement session with them first. Maybe this is much more popular in the US market where I started out, as many of my couples initially think I’m talking about photographing the engagement party. That’s not it at all. An engagement session is simply a relaxed and informal photo session with the bride and groom to be that gives us a chance to get to know each other better and helps you get comfortable in front of my camera.
With the engagement session the only thing that really matters is for you to have fun together. On the wedding day things move a lot faster and it’s a great advantage to have already developed a great relationship and trust. This is so important to me as I reestablish my photography business here in the beautiful Hawke’s Bay, that I currently offer complimentary engagement sessions as part of my wedding package. On your wedding day you’ll spend a lot of time with your photographer. Don’t underestimate the benefits of getting to know them better before the big day!
Here’s some photo’s and the slideshow from Rachel & Aaron’s engagement session last week at Waimarama Beach, Hawke’s Bay. After what seemed like endless rain for days (seriously – what happened to summer?) the sun came out on the day we’d scheduled the session.

High tide created a few unexpected challenges and some dashes for high ground, but Rachel and Aaron didn’t let that stop them from having a great time and letting me capture some great moments. You guys are awesome and I can’t wait for your wedding!
