If you’re superstitious you’ll know that rain on your wedding day is said to be good luck. It’s no surprise that most couples would prefer a sunny Hawke’s Bay wedding rather than the kind of luck the rain may bring them. On the whole we are pretty lucky with the weather here but if it rains – don’t be scared – be prepared as the magical results may just surprise you! Sometimes it seems that the back up plan can turn out better than the original.

Anna and Nick were married at Sacred Heart Church in Hastings a few weeks ago with a ceremony that included four darling flower girls and one very handsome ring bearer. We had planned to head to Oak Ave for photographs but shortly after the ceremony the weather set in to stay and Plan B was put in to effect. I’m all for getting out there – any kind of weather – but sometimes a better opportunity comes along and when it’s just around the corner what could be better.

Nick & Anna – it was a pleasure to share your day!

A huge thank you to my hubby and the amazing team at the Hawke’s Bay Opera House for helping me keep the wedding party dry and comfortable and allowing me to use some of your fabulous spaces. What an amazing venue wet or dry and we just borrowed a few corners. So many possibilities.
